For seasoned vapers, travelling wouldn’t be fun without their favourite vape pod at hand. If you have transitioned to vapes from traditional cigarettes, you might want to keep in mind some things.

For starters, a vaping device contains a battery and e-liquid – and airlines have specific rules about both these items.

Flying with your vaping device

You may already realise that just like cigarettes, vaping on airlines is strictly prohibited. But it’s important to pack your vape and e-liquids properly.

Because lithium-ion batteries found in vaping devices are a potential fire hazard, they are banned from checked luggage. So, you must pack them in your batteries in your hand luggage.

If you are carrying checked luggage, you can pack the liquids here. Be sure to pack the e-liquids in a plastic bag and protect them appropriately to ensure they do not leak on your clothes.

If you are only carrying hand luggage, be sure to pack the e-liquids in a clear bag.

It’s best to empty your vape tank to keep them from leaking. If you are using a vape with refills, you won’t have to worry about leakage.

Vaping laws abroad

In several countries, just like in the UK, vaping is allowed and considered an effective aid to smoking cessation. However, some countries have strict regulations in place about the sale and use of vaping.

We highly recommend that you check up on the latest rules about vaping in your destination country.

Some nations have banned vaping completely including Thailand, Singapore and Brazil. In these countries, your vaping kit might be confiscated, and you may even be slapped with hefty fines or even jail time if you are caught vaping in public.

In countries that do allow vaping, it’s best to vape in places where smoking is allowed.
